Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life! 

As you start your morning routine think of something positive.  Even if you're super tired and are having a hard time focusing.  Being in control of your own personal day is all on you and you've got this!

How many times do you wish something good would happen or if you just needed a stroke of good luck.  Well friends.....put it out there and make it happen!

Growing The Positive Shift, LLC isn't going to just grow on its own.  I have to put a lot of mind over matter, positive thoughts and feelings out there and know that if I work hard and set my intentions and BELEIVE them, IT WILL HAPPEN.

With this being said....I am happy to announce and share with you that The Positive Shift is now in Thunder Roads Magazine Michigan each month with a mindful tip for all readers.

As I continue this journey not knowing what the next exciting venture or challenge will be, I welcome it with open arms as  I have a deep passion for what I do.

YOUR opportunities are right around the corner; its either we embrace and see them or if we are more blinded because of stress or other obstacles that we allow in.  

Set your intentions for today, this week, this month and see what lays ahead for you.  Be opened minded and believe in what you want.

What are you being positive about and what can you do to change what you really want?  I'd be interested to hear.

It was time to show some appreciation and make someone's day with a little coffee.  

We did a challenge to Heide with Heide Quilty Hugs  She is a talented and wonderful women who does so much for so many and deserved to have a special surprise.

What and Who Are You Appreciating Today?

What and who are you appreciating today? 


If your having a tough start to the day....take a moment and stop what your doing. 


Think about what makes you smile or happy.

If you can’t find those at the moment, be happy that you woke up, you can breath on your own, that you have vision to see the beautiful things around you, or that you have the ability to smile whether it’s fake or not. Remember some can’t see things, get out of bed and walk, breath independently or have the ability to talk or have hand moments to text. 


Sometimes we need to take a step back and appreciate the small things!


Then send a text to a friend/family letting them how happy you are to have them in your life. I could change their day!
Who are you going to text today? Did you get feedback from them and how did it make you feel?

Happy New Years 2018 ~ This is YOUR Year!

Happy New Years! 

While wishing everyone the traditional wishes of health, happiness, prosperity and love; I reflect on what everyone really needs to hear. 

Lets think about 2017...it has taught us many things, specifically, that the world is changing and we are stepping into a new era of technology, innovation and continual challenges of life in general.  This all plays an essential role into the future in which we need to set realistic goals and actually keep ourselves accountable with our goal setting.  
  • Set goals that you really want and stick to it.
  • Take advantage of opportunities as they are presented to you for a reason. 
  • Respect yourself and do the right thing(s) because you will feel better about it and in the end you wont ever have to worry about any type of back lash. (Phew, aren't we hearing about it a lot lately.) 
  • Spend time with those who make you happy, support and encourage you and remember that family and friends love you for who you are and not what you have. 
My final thought is an image that I found and it stuck with me. It's worth sharing with you because it fits perfectly for everyone. 

If you want 2018 to be your year:

Don't sit on the couch and wait for it.
Go out. Make a change.
Smile more. Be excited. Do new things.
Throw away what you've been cluttering. 
Unfollow negative people on social media. 
Go to bed early. Wake up early.
Be fierce. Don't gossip.
Show more gratitude.
Do things that challenge you.
Be brave.

Being a Parent....There Is No Other Job Like It!

There is no other job like a Mom/Dad/Parent!  As you know with any job it has its moments. At the end of the day it's how you handle each situation. constantly let your children know you love and support them and continue to communicate with them.

Build their confidence with positive words daily.  It will be rewarding not only to them, but you will see the difference.  Don't forget to remind yourself how awesome you are as a parent juggling so many things!

As you know, life is not picture perfect, nor will it ever be.  If you find a perfect family.....RUN!  LOL  There is no such thing and everyone has to experience hardships, difficult times and heartache.  That is what makes us stronger and be able to help guide our children. Life is full of learning lessons.


Try this for 21 days! I would love to hear how it has made a difference to your kids and yourself.

The Positive Shift Challenge! Surprise Someone Today!

The Positive Shift Challenge! Our everyday life could use some positive and uplifting surprises.  Therefore, I came up with the idea of The Positive Shift Challenge.  Its as simple as it can be and can almost nothing...if not anything depending on what you do.

The challenge is videoing a positive, unrespecting gratitude gesture towards a friend or someone that could use some uplifting.  Who would like a surprise like that!!!  Nominating 3 others to participate in the challenge and then TAG the Facebook page: The Positive Shift, LLC Stacie Zotkovich and we will share it as well.

Here is our FIRST Positive Shift Challenge with Stacie Duff from Salon Tress in Walled Lake, MI.  Such an amazing women and Salon that you must check out!

As you video your Positive Shift Challenge, just know, it may not be perfect and that is okay! Of course, when I did mine, I may have repeated myself or wish I would have said things better or differently....but this was a one time shot and goes to show, I'm not perfect, nor do I want to be perfect. 

This video is filled with warmth, love and it came from my heart. I was so darn excited about it, that I wasn't really thinking everything out and just went with the flow.  Much like you will be doing. Do You Need Willpower! How Do You Start?


Every wonder why someone else seems to have all the willpower? It seems hard to say no and hard not falling into the "stuff my face" with all the unhealthy things.  How can others be dedicated to their work out routine and seem balanced.  I'm faced with those issues now as I'm sure most of you are. Can't quite figure out why the dryer keeps shrinking my clothes. I lost my willpower and am gaining weight where my pants don't fit.  Good grief, if I could only fit into my "skinny" jeans.  Nope, no way is that happening.  Sound familiar?

Staying focused can be trying and hard to do.  Do you find it hard to control yourself with certain things.  As much as we try to be healthy and stay on track, somehow the holidays, birthdays, neighborhood events or whatever we are enticed with seems to drain our willpower. AGH!!!

Here's what I realized....when our mind is set out to stay focused, we can accomplish many things while maintaining ones self's willpower.  We have been built up the "willpower muscle" shall we say.  Its like working out.  We start with a 10 lbs. weight and work our arms for about a week or two.  Slowly, our arms need to be challenged with a higher weight so we move up to the 15 lbs. dumbbell; continuing to move up or maintain our arm strength.  That's how our minds work.  Think of it as a muscle that needs to be built up and strengthened. 

When you decide to change something in your life its easier to change it in steps. Stopping everything at once is harder to maintain.  Here's a good starting point and some tips to get you moving.  The first week or two, how about starting a good work out routine, Mon-Thurs. Oh heck, add Friday in too if you want!  Be bound and determined to make it happen. 

Use a sticky note and write:  I'm excited to workout in the morning so I can feel better, look better and be better.  When your brushing your teeth at night read it over and over in your head and get yourself in the mindset that you are going to make it happen. Even if you don't believe it or want to.
Helpful Hint: Set your workout clothes out in the morning! Including your shoes.  I put all my workout clothes on the counter with the shoes on the floor next to them. I do that for two reasons, one, subconsciously I am putting that into my mind and the secondly, I put the clothes out so I don't wake up my husband. Plus, in the morning when I'm still sleeping I don't have to think about anything. Just get dressed and workout.  If your wondering about brushing your teeth, nope, I put a stick of peppermint gum out and throw it in my mouth.  If you see me at the gym, stay clear, I probably stink!   I can brush them when I'm done with my workout.

After you get the workout thing going, maybe start making yourself a protein shake after your workouts.  BABYSTEPS!  Don't overwhelm yourself with too many changes at once.  Recently, I started putting the blender on the counter the night before.  Put these items next to the blender, the  blender cup, a banana, the protein powder container, peanut butter jar, a spoon and a napkin. This makes it easy as time is an issue and we don't have time to waste.  All I have to do is add my coconut milk, ice and the items I already set out.  Takes all of 3 mins to make, clean the blade of the blender and put it away. 
BAM! DONE!  Another step towards making your willpower work!

We all want things to happen fast and easy. So taking these steps should help you gain some of your willpower back and take control of you again. You've got this!
